Starting October 31st, eBay is banning private sales of e-bikes and their batteries in the UK due to safety concerns. Only "eligible business sellers" will be allowed to list them, but details on the criteria are still under wraps.

E-bikes have been a hot trend, but so have battery fires—155 incidents were reported in London this year alone, a 78% jump from 2022.

With eBay stepping in to prioritize consumer safety, it’s a good reminder for e-bike owners to double-check their battery packs and stay fire-safe.
